[Aide] new Amazon Linux releases causing aide to run much longer

We are currently using aide on Amazon Linux.  On the latest AMI release we are seeing the "aide -check" take much longer to run, and consume high cpu.  The same aide version with the same configuration does not do the same thing on older AMI versions.  Nothing pops out in the logs.
