[Aide] compiling on amazon linux

Has anyone been able to successfully compile this on amazon linux which is
a flavor of redhat/centos as the binaries seem to stop at 0.15.1 for centos

I am porting from debian and the conf files between 0.16 and 0.15 are very
different, in fact 0.16 has the /etc/aide/conf.d folder which is missing in
0.15

I am facing the same issue as the author of this thread
