Well, that's embarrassing, and I apologize and thank you for your
polite & patient reply!  

All I can is that I started gzipping those files and it's only in the
past week that the compressed sizes have gone back over the limit.

I'm now using the 0.15.1-2ubuntu1 package; I guess the next Ubuntu one
will pick up the bugfix.
